Folkfest
The Nipawin FolkFest is a cultural fair that takes place in May. The Festival is typically made up of groups in the community that put together a booth, usually wearing traditional clothing, and prepare some ethnic foods for sampling. We usually have over 200 people attend. It's just a night to celebrate the different cultures in and around the Nipawin area. New citizens to Nipawin would really benefit from attending as it showcases the wide variety of cultures found in the Nipawin area. The cultural booths are from 5 to 7 pm. During that time there are also kids activities in the gym. Then at 7 pm there is cultural entertainment - singers, dancers, performers. Cost for the event is free but there will be a silver collection at the door that will benefit a local charity.
